Osamu Tezuka Future Conference
This time, within the General Incorporated Foundation for the Promotion of Future Medical Care, we have established an organization with the aim of broadly conveying the profound thoughts and philosophy of manga artist Osamu Tezuka through his works and passing them on to future generations."Osamu Tezuka Future Conference"Was established.
Tezuka's more than 700 works, including "Astro Boy," "Black Jack," "Phoenix," and "Kimba the White Lion," each contain Tezuka's sharp questioning and his warm perspective on humanity and society. Themes such as poverty, racial discrimination, views on life and death, war, euthanasia, and justice remain relevant in modern society, 37 years after his death; rather, they offer important insights that should be re-examined now more than ever. We believe that carefully examining these Tezuka works and passing them on as a valuable cultural heritage is of great significance.
This conference is based in Nakanoshima, Osaka, a place closely associated with the Osaka Imperial University Medical School (now the Osaka University School of Medicine), the alma mater of Osamu Tezuka. Through symposiums, public lectures, and other activities, we hope to spread Osamu Tezuka's ideals to as many people as possible.
1th Citizens' Forum
The first citizen forum, which will be the first initiative of this project,
It will be held in Nakanoshima, Osaka.
"Astro Boy," "Black Jack," "Phoenix," "Kimba the White Lion"—.
The numerous works left behind by Osamu Tezuka depict themes that transcend time and continue to pose questions to us about life, humanity, science, justice, society, and the future.
Joining us as speakers from diverse backgrounds, including Makoto Tezuka, son of Osamu Tezuka and a visual artist/film director, we will explore what we, living in the present, can take away from Tezuka's works depicting "life," "humanity," "science," "society," and "the future," and what kind of future we can connect them to.
With AI, robotics, life sciences, and medical technology advancing rapidly, and the very nature of society and humanity itself on the verge of transformation, why not reconsider the questions that Osamu Tezuka posed through his works, as if they were our own problems living in the modern age?
We welcome not only fans of Osamu Tezuka's works, but also anyone interested in medicine, science and technology, AI, education, society, culture, and the future.
