exhibitionNQ Pavilion ~My Future Medical Care~

What will medical care be like in 100 years? Will we live in a society where incurable diseases can be cured?

About 200 years ago, Hanaoka Seishu succeeded in performing the world's first surgery under general anesthesia. In any era, the desire to "help the people in front of me" has been the driving force behind research, leading to technological innovation to this day. In modern times, advances have been made in surgery using robots and treatment techniques using regenerative medicine.

The concept of the 4 Osaka Kansai Expo, which will be held from April 13th, is "a laboratory for the future society." It will be a place that brings together the world's wisdom, including cutting-edge technology, and creates and disseminates new ideas.

Nakanoshima Qross is a place that promotes "future medicine," or "cutting-edge medical care," and it brings together companies, research institutes, and medical institutions involved in cutting-edge medical care, such as the "mini heart" made from iPS cells that will be exhibited at the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo.

By sharing the cutting-edge medical treatments being carried out here at Nakanoshima Qross, you will wonder "why?" and "I want to know more!", and make new discoveries. You will also get excited imagining what the future will be like 100 years from now. This is the kind of project we are holding.

The aim of this project is to deepen the general public's interest in future medicine as well as to build momentum for the 2025 Osaka-Kansai World Expo.

Permanent exhibition

Panel display

The exhibition features a timeline of the development of medical care in Japan and panels summarizing the current state and future potential of future medical care. While looking back at the history of medical care, we will unravel the background to the birth of Nakanoshima Qross, the industrialization base for future medical care. We will also provide an explanation of Nakanoshima Qross and what we hope to achieve for the future.

What is future medicine?
We will explain regenerative medicine technology, which is evolving every day, and introduce new medical treatments such as robotic medicine and genomic therapy.
What kind of facility is Nakanoshima Qross, accelerating the development of future medicine?
We will introduce Nakanoshima Qross' base and what we hope to achieve in the future.
Future Medical Care for Everyone
We have prepared a section where you can imagine medical care 100 years from now and write down your hopes, such as "I hope we'll be able to receive this kind of treatment," or "I'd like to be involved in curing this disease." Please come along and join us!

Installation of a heavy particle cancer treatment model

Heavy particle cancer therapy is a non-surgical, painless treatment that is also gentle on the elderly.
This time, we borrowed a model building from the Osaka Heavy Particle Beam Center.
During the event, we will exhibit and introduce heavy particle cancer therapy, a highly precise treatment.

In 1970 (12 years old at the time), he was fascinated by the Tower of the Sun, the innovative pavilions, video exhibits, and the other-dimensional space where he could encounter many foreign countries at the Osaka Expo. Since then, he has visited expos held both in Japan and abroad, and has collected goods, mainly various documents and pin badges, in order to enjoy the Expo at home. In 2013, after working to introduce expos held overseas to Japan, he began working on "communicating the goodness of the Expo" instead of "enjoying the Expo on his own."
