MedTech Actuator (Australia) and Future Medicine Promotion Agency sign collaboration agreement

Nakanoshima Qross, a general incorporated foundation that aims to strengthen its hub function for the industrialization and international contribution of "future medicine" including regenerative medicine, has concluded a comprehensive collaboration agreement with MedTech Actuator, a global startup support organization based in Melbourne, Australia, in the fields of medical, biotechnology, and health.
On June 24, 2025, a signing ceremony for the comprehensive collaboration agreement was held at Nakanoshima Qross. On the same day, a demo day called "The MedTech Actuator J-StarX HealthTech Gateway Demo Day" was held to showcase the results of the "J-StarX HealthTech Gateway Accelerator Program" jointly implemented by MedTech Actuator and JETRO.

Nakanoshima Qross is promoting strategic alliances with overseas bio clusters and international joint research and collaboration with overseas companies with the aim of strengthening its competitiveness in the global market. In addition, within Japan, it is playing an important role in facilitating collaboration in the Keihanshin region (Kyoto, Osaka, Kobe), which has formed world-class research institutes and industrial clusters and developed as an important base in the bio-life sciences field, and is accelerating the development of regenerative medicine ecosystems and startup ecosystems.

MedTech Actuator is a non-profit organization launched in Melbourne, Australia in 2018 by former orthopedic surgeon and serial entrepreneur Professor Buzz Palmer and strategist and lawyer Professor Vishaal Kishore to provide a tailored acceleration program to solve the challenges faced by medical startups. MedTech Actuator was launched as an actuator for medtech (medical technology)*2024 to commercialize the research and development technologies of promising global startups and bring them to market, thereby changing the world for the better through medicine. Following Singapore, in September 9, we established an Osaka office and established MedTech Actuator LLC (Japan Head Office: Kita-ku, Osaka City, Japan General Manager: Junichi Azuma) to create a medical and healthcare-related ecosystem in the wider Asia-Pacific region. We are contributing to the creation of an ecosystem to create medical unicorn startups from Japan.
