On Wednesday, July 16th, 2025, 24 students from Osaka Seikou Gakuin came to Nakanoshima Qross for a tour and exchange event!
2025.09.30In the afternoon after the final exams of the first semester, 4 first-year high school students visited NQ.
The participants first toured the NQ Pavilion and received an explanation of the objectives and overview of NQ in the Qrossover Lounge Yume. They then split into two groups. The "tour course" included visits to Taisei Chemical, the PMDA Kansai Branch, and Hitachi Plant. The "experience course" included lectures on cellular agriculture and cultured meat under the guidance of Four See, followed by a hands-on cell passaging experience. Afterward, everyone returned to tour the Kyoto University iPS Cell Research Foundation's cell processing facility, "Yanai my iPS Cell Factory," and exchanged opinions with researchers from Four See and the Kyoto University iPS Cell Research Foundation.
The students had endless questions about their time as students, their careers as researchers, and regenerative medicine.
We will introduce some of the many comments we received later. Thank you everyone.
- The story from Taisei Chemical was what made the biggest impression on me. I heard a lot about their specific products, their philosophy, and their manufacturing process, but I was impressed by their amazing ideas and the advanced technology they use to create convenient and safe products. I was also moved by the company's philosophy and pride.
- At the PMDA Kansai Branch, I was able to understand the importance and difficulty of reviewing pharmaceuticals and other products. Also, the characters were cute.
- At Hitachi, I was glad to learn about medical products that use the latest technology, such as 3D.
- In the experiences offered by AS ONE and Four See, there was an explanation of why cell subculture involves so many steps, which I found very interesting. We were also able to observe under a microscope how cells change when enzymes are used, which was easy to understand.
- At the iPS Cell Research Foundation, I had a great opportunity to learn about how research on iPS cells came about and what iPS cells are. I had always wanted to work in a job that involved creating something, and was considering a job in engineering, but after participating in this project, I became interested in a research position.
- I was able to see the cutting edge of medical care, learn that not only researchers and doctors but also many companies are involved, and realize that it is possible to work in medicine regardless of your background in humanities. This broadened the scope of my future work and sparked my interest in medicine.
