BioValley France (Representative: Romina Markovic, hereinafter referred to as BioValley France), Osaka Bio Headquarters (Representative: Shizuo Akira (Chairman of the Senri Life Science Foundation, Public Interest Incorporated Foundation), Secretariat: Osaka Prefecture), and Future Medicine Promotion Organization (hereinafter referred to as Nakanoshima Qross, Chairman: Yoshiki Sawa) signed a memorandum of understanding on the promotion of the life science industry at Nakanoshima Cross (4-3-51 Nakanoshima, Kita-ku, Osaka) on October 7, 2025.

BioValley France is one of Europe's leading life science and bioindustry clusters, formed with the support of the French government in cooperation with Switzerland and Germany and based in the Grand Est region of France. Close collaboration between industry, government and academia, including the University of Strasbourg, research institutes, hospitals, major pharmaceutical companies and startups, has resulted in strengths in all areas of medical innovation, including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and digital health.

Osaka Bio Headquarters brings together industry, academia, and government in the prefecture to promote measures aimed at further developing the health and medical-related industries. As part of its efforts to promote the life science industry in the prefecture, the center has been deepening exchanges with European life science clusters through international biotech exhibitions and other events.

Nakanoshima Qross is working in conjunction with national policies such as the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare's "Drug Discovery Cluster Campus Development Project" to strengthen its competitiveness in the global market, and is pursuing strategic alliances with overseas bioclusters and global pharmaceutical companies. Furthermore, within Japan, the company plays an important role in facilitating collaboration within the Keihanshin region (Kyoto, Osaka, and Kobe), which has developed into an important base for the biosciences and life sciences, forming world-class research institutes and industrial clusters, and is accelerating the development of regenerative medicine ecosystems and startup ecosystems.

Through this memorandum, Nakanoshima Qross aims to strengthen its role as a hub for the industrialization of future medical treatments, including regenerative medicine, and for international contributions, thereby contributing to the international development of the life science industry in Osaka and the Kansai region.

Purpose of the partnership
- Promoting research and development and commercialization in the life science industry in both regions
・Creating collaborative opportunities through strengthening exchanges between companies, research institutes, and medical institutions
- Improving international presence and contributing to industrial development

Main efforts
・Promoting cross-innovation partnerships (research collaboration, drug discovery and development, business collaboration, etc.)
