On Thursday, July 23rd, we held "NQ Deep Tech Studio 2026 Seeds & Innovation Connect ~20 companies presenting cutting-edge research seeds! A co-creation event to accelerate the social implementation of research results~" at the Qrossover Lounge Yume on the 2nd floor of Nakanoshima Qross.

On the day of the event, a total of 152 people participated, including researchers, medical professionals, business companies, and venture capitalists, both in-person and online. Twenty research findings in the life sciences and healthcare fields were presented.
The crosstalk and networking sessions fostered active exchanges, creating a platform for new encounters and co-creation opportunities for joint research and business partnerships.

At the beginning of the event, Ms. Mio Kondo (Supervisor for the Promotion of Future Medical Industrialization, Department of Commerce, Industry and Labor, Osaka Prefecture) gave the opening address. She spoke of her expectations for this event, which will form a life science ecosystem centered on Nakanoshima Cross and connect excellent research seeds with commercialization players.
Next, Ms. Misato Yoshida (EVP, MIRACLE SCIENCE INNOVATION Co., Ltd.) gave a greeting on behalf of the participating companies. She explained the significance of this event as a co-creation space where people from diverse backgrounds can meet and share their knowledge, and called for proactive approaches to companies.
Furthermore, Mr. Tomoya Wakamatsu (Partner Project Manager, MIRACLE SCIENCE INNOVATION Inc.) gave an overview of NQ Deep Tech Studio and presented the future roadmap.

In the first part of the event, pitches were given in the medtech healthcare field, and nine diverse research projects related to medical devices, digital health, and materials engineering were presented.

In the subsequent crosstalk session, moderated by Kensuke Sumida (Representative, Industry-Academia Collaboration Research Institute Co., Ltd.), participants included Yuki Kato (Chief Engineer, Technology Department, Analytical Instruments Division, Shimadzu Corporation), Toshiro Muranaka (Director and Head of Corporate Planning Office, Muranaka Medical Instruments Co., Ltd.), Yusuke Shiino (Head of Healthcare Alliance, Planning Department for Peace of Mind, Nippon Life Insurance Company), and Takashi Takijiri (Corporate Collaboration & Creation Group, Corporate Planning Department and Stork Project Leader, Regenerative Medicine Division, Rohto Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.). The crosstalk highlighted the importance of designing from the outset "who will ultimately pay the costs" from the perspectives of corporate human capital management and hospital management. The importance of analyzing and approaching each company's medium-term management plan and vision was also discussed, as well as the significant gap between laboratory data and product quality that can be used by everyone in the field.

Next, research seed pitches were held in the fields of regenerative medicine and drug discovery, with a total of 11 research seeds being presented.

In the concluding remarks, Mr. Masakazu Yagi (Expert Supporter, Future Medical Promotion Organization / Associate Professor, Endowed Chair, Department of Health Sciences, Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka University) praised the high potential of all the presented research projects.
